Independent laboratory testing confirmed the outstanding PFAS removal performance of AQUAPHOR RO-101S and RO-102S models, with all 20 tested PFAS compounds reduced to below the laboratory detection limit.
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), often referred to as “forever chemicals,” have become a growing concern worldwide due to their persistence in the environment and potential impact on human health. As awareness of PFAS contamination increases, consumers are looking for reliable water treatment solutions that can effectively reduce these compounds in drinking water.
To evaluate the performance of AQUAPHOR reverse osmosis technology, the AQUAPHOR RO-101S/RO-102S system was independently tested by Measurlabs, an accredited analytical laboratory service provider. The study assessed the system’s ability to remove a broad spectrum of 20 PFAS compounds commonly monitored in drinking water.
During the test, a solution containing known concentrations of PFAS compounds was passed through the AQUAPHOR RO-101S/RO-102S system after the unit had been properly conditioned and stabilized. The concentrations of PFAS were measured both before and after filtration using liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC/MS).
The results demonstrated exceptional filtration performance. All 20 tested PFAS compounds, including PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, PFNA, and PFBS, were reduced to below the laboratory detection limit of 0.0005 µg/L after treatment. The total PFAS concentration decreased from 0.320 µg/L in the challenge water to less than 0.0005 µg/L in the filtered water.
These findings correspond to a PFAS reduction efficiency exceeding 99.8%, highlighting the effectiveness of AQUAPHOR’s reverse osmosis technology for addressing one of today’s most challenging groups of water contaminants.
The test results confirm that the AQUAPHOR RO-101S/RO-102S reverse osmosis system provides a highly effective barrier against PFAS contamination, helping consumers enjoy cleaner and safer drinking water at home.
LC/MS is a highly sensitive analytical method that can detect PFAS and other contaminants at extremely low concentrations. Its accuracy makes it a trusted tool for verifying water filtration performance.
These results provide independent proof of AQUAPHOR RO-101S performance, demonstrating the reduction of all tested PFAS compounds to below detectable levels.
These independently verified results provide clear, evidence-based confirmation of the system's PFAS removal performance.
